Ra

Noun: The first Goa'uld encountered by earth, in the 1994 film Stargate.

Raid

Noun: A large lengthy and difficult encounter often involving very powerful mobs and bosses. A large organised group of players is required to complete raids.

Realm

Noun: The individual persistant world that players are part of. See shard.

Regen

Abbr: Regeneration (of health or other player attributes that may be depleted)

Respec

Abbr: At high level changing a characters skills, powers and abilities. Often there is significant cost involved.

Rez

Abbr: Resurrection. Abilities that allow players to revive other players that have died.

Rings (Also Ring Transporter)

Noun: A device allowing near instantaneous travel but over much shorter distances than a Stargate (within a planetary orbit).

RMT

Abbr: Real Money Trade. Selling virtual currency for real money.

ROFL

Abbr: Rolling on the floor laughing.

Roll

Verb: To use the games random number generator to produce a dice roll. Often used as a fair means of distributing loot or resolving disputes. Also used in the context of creating an alternate character or "rolling an alt".

Root

Noun: A spell or ability that traps a player or mob in one spot.

Verb: To use a root spell or ability.

RvR

Abbr: Realm vs Realm. Most games don't support realm vs realm combat so RvR generally refers to competition between realms to achieve something in the game first.
