MacGyver
- Verb: To build something with limited sources, like building a nuclear reactor with gum and a piece of string. This comes from an old military TV show, where MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson who plays Jack O'Neill in Stargate SG-1), the main character, could literally build anything from nothing.
Macro
- Noun: Programming term for user made macros or scripts that can be used to automate certain parts of the game. While they increase the players ability to customise and increase the ease of use of the game they can make it easier for players to create bots.
Mastaba
- Noun: Fighting style used by the rebel Jaffa.
Min-Maxing
- Verb: Optimising a player character. Can start at character creation but is a continuous process to make a player character as powerful as they can be.
MMORPG
- Noun: Abbreviation for Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game.
Mob
- Noun: A computer controlled enemy. Mob originally came from the earliest days of Multi-User Dungeons where it stood for Mobile, referring to a monster that would patrol around a room.
Mod
- Abbr: Modification. Refers to third party programs and addons to augment the game. May also refer to the act of creating or installing a mod.
MT
- Abbr: Mistell. Common occurance in MMORPGs when users type in the wrong name or incorrectly use the auto-reply feature.
MUD
- Abbr: Multi-User Dungeon, or Multi-User Domain. The earliest generation of online text based role-playing games.
Mule
- Noun: Low level alternates that players use to store additional items and check auction houses, due to long travel times in many MMO's.
