From Stargate Worlds Wiki (SGW)
Gank Verb: To overwhelm and defeat another player, either by using a surprise attack or using a large number of people. Often used in the context where the player that got ganked believed the opposing player(s) had an unfair advantage. Often used to surprise attacks launched by stealthy players like rogues or thieves.
Gate
- Noun: Common abbreviation for Stargate.
- Verb: To travel through the Stargate.
GDO
- Noun: Stands for Garage Door Opener. Handheld device carried by all off-world SGC personnel that transmits a personal code through a wormhole and is received by the SGC computers. This confirms identification, and ensures an open iris upon arrival to the complex.
Giza
- Noun: The original Stargate was unearthed here. Following the discovery of the Stargate in Antarctica the original Stargate is often called the "Giza Stargate" to distinguish them.
GM
- Abbr: Game Master. An in-game moderator and employee of the company operating the MMORPG. Can either refer to either the in-game avatar and character or their forum identity. GMs monitor the game and answer player questions and complaints. They have absolute power in the game and can take action against players who are breaking the rules, up to and including banning their account.
Goa'uld
- Noun: An Alien race. See Races
Griefer
- Noun: A player who enjoys inflicting needless pain on other players. Almost always used in PvP situations and often cited as a reason why some players don't enjoy PvP. Not all PvP players are griefers.
GTG
- Abbr: Means either "Good to Go" or "Got to Go".
Guild
- Noun: Group of people banded together to play a game. In SGW guilds are called Commands
