Stargate Worlds is in the Production Phase. Therefore, any information on this wiki (including the information in the developer quotes) cannot be taken as concrete facts, and may still change. |
The universal currency will be naquadah.[1] Exactly how the economy will work, particularly in interaction with a military organisation like the SGC is still being determined.[2] SGW will have a free economy with players being allowed to trade freely between each other. Players may also be able to take advantage of the economic situation on various planets and move trade goods between them for profit. In addition smuggling goods and technology from between the two factions may also be allowed.[3] CME will attempt to set up the economy so that it requires as little regulation as possible to keep inflation under control, but the economy will be semi-managed.[4] There will be at least one auction house or bazaar.[5] Whether there will be inter-faction or linked auction houses is unknown. CME hopes a player-driven economy will prevail and which will include, crafters and NPC vendors.[6] An important aspect of the economy will be crafting. Crafters will need to source parts from other players or from the world to create items that other players will want.[7] There will not be playermade shops or playermade NPC sellers.[8]
