Stargate Worlds is in the Production Phase. Therefore, any information on this wiki (including the

information in the developer quotes) cannot be taken as concrete facts, and may still change.

Players will advance by a combination of levels and skills with a variety of content and skills opening up to players as they advance through the game. Player's will level until a cap at 50. It will take 200-250 hours of gameplay to reach the level-cap but there will be plenty to do once a player hits cap and replayability will be a big part of the game[1]As players level they will be granted new skills and the ability to use more advanced technology. Increases in player stats and health will be small if any. Levels will make little difference to equally geared players.[2] Players can reach levelcap doing only missions or minigames if they so wish. Some classes may even reach levelcap without ever fighting. Likewise it is possible to level up without ever doing missions (at least 'A-line' ones).[3][4][5] Players will gain experience at least from fighting, doing missions and exploring.[6]

As the game progresses there will be plenty of opportunity for players to customize their characters. There will be a variety of different skill trees with crafting skills, generic skills and archetype specific skills. These skills won't decay and there will be a buy back.[7] These skills will allow players to differentiate from each other and establish their own identity.[8][9] Players will get access to new skills roughly every couple of levels.[10]

Players will also be able to change the look of their players. For example SGC players, who in the show have the most homogeneous uniforms, will be able to acquire different clothing, uniforms and equipment, such as space suits that will mark them as individuals even in a military organization. [11] Grinding, a sometimes hated feature of other MMOs, will not play a major role in SGW. Quests will revolve around unique and engaging storylines. [12]As has already been mentioned the leveling curve will be fairly short in comparison to other MMORPGs. Players will be drawn in and become attached to the game by the unique storylines, not the time invested in a character.

[edit] Rewards

There will be rewards, that players can achieve. These rewards can include ranks, medals or ribbons.[13][14]
